Please Join Paul Pratt Memorial Library & Safe Harbor Cohasset Coalition on Thursday, September 26th, 6:30pm at Paul Pratt Memorial Library, as we present our Recovery Month Guest Speaker, Ron Menard.

Ron Menard is the author of “The BenAddiction”,  a book about hope, love, and a community’s desire to save a young man’s life tied to addiction. Through the seven year journey, an amazing story unfolds, including the gifts and blessings bestowed upon a family and a community reeling from loss.

Prior to our guest speaker, please join us at 6:00pm for FREE Narcan Training with Officer Paul Wilson, Cohasset Police Department. Manet Community Health Center will be present to answer any questions residents may have following Officer Wilson’s presentation.

Spiral Upward – Recovery is Possible Exhibit

McLean Hospital has generously lent work to “end the stigma” by highlighting both substance use disorder and mental illness in the lives of everyday individuals.

The large scale posters are part of their “Deconstructing Stigma Campaign.”  Each story is told through the eyes of local participants as they boldly tear down the misconceptions of mental health. Not statistics or nameless faces, the volunteers in this project are just like you.

The four smaller paintings are part of “The Opioid Project” an art and storytelling project that highlights individuals in recovery and the people in their lives who supported them on their journey.  The accompanying audio can be accessed via iphone.

Safe Harbor Cohasset, The Paul Pratt Memorial Library and The South Shore Art Center hope you leave this exhibit with renewed hope, information and compassion.  Don’t forget to join us here on October 16th at 6:30 pm when Brian Scott from McLean Hospital will speak on “What Parents Need to Know About Adolescent Mental Health.”
